Hans-Joerg Mauthe appointed new Regional CEO for CEE

Hans-Joerg Mauthe, Head of Market Management CEE, will become Regional CEO for Central & Eastern Europe as of April 1, 2019.
Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty SE (AGCS), the global industrial insurer of the Allianz Group, announces Hans-Joerg Mauthe as Regional CEO for Central & Eastern Europe (CEE). He will be responsible for the German market and for AGCS activities in Austria, Switzerland and Eastern Europe from April 1, 2019.   

Hans-Joerg has played a key role in shaping developments in the CEE region for more than 13 years, initially as Head of Liability (since 2005) and later as Head of Market Management (since 2011). Since 2012, he has been closely involved in the operational management of the region as deputy to the respective CEOs.

Hans-Joerg started at Allianz in 1990 as a trainee in Frankfurt after completing his studies and then worked for many years as an underwriter in Liability. In 1997, he took over his first management tasks as team leader in Munich, where he was responsible, among other things, for the development of industrial liability business in Eastern Europe and Asia. In 2000, he took over as Head of Corporate Liability, Pure Financial Loss Liability and D&O again at Allianz in Frankfurt.

The CEE region is a major part of AGCS’ global business, from which AGCS serves a large number of multinational and specialty clients, including providing insurance to 90% of all DAX 30 companies. This region is responsible for over 15% (€1.236 billion) of AGCS global revenues[1] (totalling €8,2 billion in 2018).        

Personal Background: Hans-Joerg Mauthe holds a degree in administrative science. He studied at the University of Konstanz. The father of three daughters lives with his family near Munich. In his spare time he enjoys sports and is a passionate skier.
