News and Events

The Minnesota Wild, along with Bally Sports North and Minnesota Hockey, today announced that Hockey Day Minnesota 2026, presented by UnitedHealthcare, will take place at United Heroes League’s outdoor rink in Hastings.
TORONTO/HASTINGS, Minn. (Jan. 31, 2024) The United Heroes League and the National Hockey League Players’ Association have announced the four winners of this year’s All-Star Hero campaign, which recognizes military personnel and their families for their service through the players’ NHLPA Goals & Dreams fund. Warrant Officer Sean Collins and Master Warrant Officer Donald Evans of the Canadian Armed Forces, along with Command Sergeant Major Wade Scott and First Sergeant (Ret.) Michael Taylor of the United States Army will each receive a once-in-a-lifetime 2024 NHL® All-Star Weekend experience with a guest.
Based on his previous experience, Shane Hudella was certain the latest United Heroes League event would be a memorable day for everyone involved and it most certainly was. Hudella, the founder and president of the organization that assists the children of military service members with the opportunity to participate in sports, had a surprise guest on hand for the over 70 youth hockey players and families who gathered at MedStar Capitals Iceplex in mid-December. The collective reaction of the group when Tom Wilson, forward for the Washington Capitals, skated onto the ice was, as Hudella recalled it, priceless.
