Chanting, bells and whistles could be heard down Main Street in Bozeman Tuesday. It was all part of an impeachment rally -- one of nine in the state.

More than 200 people gathered in front of the Gallatin County Courthouse between the hours of 5:30 to 7:30 on the eve of the U.S. House impeachment vote to show their support for the impeachment and removal of President Donald Trump.

It was part of a bigger national movement. The organizer of the Bozeman rally, Sheila Garven, says she signed up to host the rally because she wanted at least one impeachment rally to take place in Montana.

Garven says 145 people signed up in advance, but well over that showed up.

"I think Bozeman is aware of what's going on in the country. They're not hiding their heads in the sand, and it's good that people pay attention and they read the news," she said.

Other rallies in Montana happened in Missoula, Hamilton, Whitefish, Kalispell, Helena, Great Falls, Livingston and Billings.

The two articles of impeachment head to the House Wednesday for a full vote.
