Converted from a working bank into an art gallery and cultural center in 2013, the Ely Art Bank features a permanent collection of paintings, sculptures, and photos of Ely, the rest of beautiful White Pine County, and beyond. Over the centuries, people who’ve called the Great Basin home have tapped into the natural elements around them to express themselves. Whether it’s indigenous art, folk art, or modern art, this form of expression lives on in many of the objects you’ll find in this rich collection embodying Nevada in a small-town setting. The work of numerous Nevada artists is featured and for sale, along with handcrafted jewelry, photography, paintings, furniture, and more spectacular finds. Occasionally, the Nevada Arts Council hosts special exhibits at the Ely Art Bank, when regional artists share the spotlight with budding local student artists.

As a nod to its early days as a bank, the original vault has been converted into the Gallery Store, and the Art Bank also offers a variety of framing services. Local craftsman Mark Caylor has expertly prepared the “Art Among the Aspens” gallery. The Ely Renaissance Society’s Cuchine Collection features nearly 200 select pieces from art collector and Ely local Wally Cuchine.
