As a part of a nationwide movement in all 50 states called ‘Nobody is Above the Law,’ protesters gathered Tuesday night in downtown Las Vegas in support of President Trump’s impeachment and calling on Congress to remove him from office.

The rally, held at the Lloyd D. George United States Federal Courthouse, comes a day before the full House of Representatives is scheduled to vote on whether or not to impeach the President.

The organization behind the rallies says that it is a “grassroots effort to ensure Congress holds Donald Trump accountable for using military aid to pressure Ukraine to interfere in our 2020 elections.”

With Democrats holding the majority of House seats, it is likely that Trump will be impeached, giving the Republican-majority Senate the opportunity to hold a trial and decide if he should be removed from office.

The proceedings followed a whistleblower report regarding the July 25 phone call between President Trump and the newly elected President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in which Democrats say the President asked Zelensky to investigate his Democratic rival Joe Biden in exchange for military aid.

The House will convene on Wednesday at 6:00 a.m. PT for six hours of debate with the vote expected to take place in the evening.

According to Lt. Hernandez with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, two people were cited for battery at the protest downtown, though he says no major issues were reported nor any injuries.
