In the wake of the announcement of his T.R.U. (The Real University) partnership with Atlantic Records, 2 Chainz and his team have unveiled the official video for their debut single "Shoot It Out."
"It adjusts the mood on your face," 2 Chainz previously said of the single featuring himself, Sleepy Rose, WORL, and Hott LockedN. "It's got the grit and the Atlanta sound I like to talk about. It's a heavy one with a lot of power."
Speaking on the video, Chainz said the Darius Turbak and Cloud Harvest Team-directed visual demonstrates each artist's personality.
"Excited to give a new generation of Atlanta a platform to create their own wave," he said. "The video showcases each of their unique personas."
"I don't ride waves I create them," Sleepy Rose added.
A full-length T.R.U. compilation is expected to be released before year's end, marking the next chapter in the T.RU. legacy.
"I treat the record label as school with various levels," Chainz, whose use of the acronym is well-documented across his discography, said of his partnership design. "That's why we refer to it as 'The Real University.' It's a course you go through. Ever since my mixtape days, I've used the acronym T.R.U. It was a school of thought I put in place. It was all about me practicing what I preach, getting comfortable in my own skin, going through ups and downs, and moving forward." Teaming with Atlantic, he added, gives him the opportunity to share that vision.
