Story

Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge in 12 hours

Walking 25 miles through stunning Yorkshire Dales scenery which includes summiting the trio of peaks – Ingleborough, Whernside and Pen-Y-Ghent.

Each year Bedford Lodge hotel & Spa selects on local charity to support throughout the year. This year, following a staff vote, our chosen charity was announced as East Anglian Air Ambulance, a service which exists to save lives by delivering highly skilled doctors and critical care paramedics by air to seriously ill or injured people.

Little did we all know at the time that this charity would become a lot closer to all our hearts within a matter of weeks.

Our wonderful and hardworking host, Robbie took ill suddenly and sadly passed away. East Anglian Air Ambulance were amazing but sadly he could not be saved, leaving behind a massive hole within the team.

Rebecca Randall, Spa Manager and Kieron Bales, Operations Manager
have decided to complete the Yorkshire 3 peaks challenge in the memory of Robbie
.

All funds raised will go directly to the well-deserved and critical East Anglian Air Ambulance.

Please dig deep and help raise money for this wonderful charity and help spur them on during this walk in the park ......We mean challenge.

Words from Kieron...

I remember interviewing Robbie and can recall the impression
he made on me. Not only was he immaculately dressed, but his demeanour made him
perfect for the role of Host. Robbie had such a wealth of both work and life
experiences, I knew that he could turn his hand to anything. During his
employment it became clear that he had all he needed - a loving family, healthy
social life and good health. What he wanted was a second home, a second family,
work colleagues that he could care about and that cared about him. To say that
he found it would be an understatement. He thrived on chatting to our guests
and making them feel special, going the extra mile to make their stay
unforgettable.

I am not asking for you to sponsor me. I am hoping that you,
your family and your friends can help Robbie raise an amount that he would be
proud of - his gift back to the wonderful people that tried to save him. The
EAAA were sadly not able to save Robbie, but with your support they will be
able to continue saving lives every day - maybe someone you love. If everyone
this post reaches only gave £1, I would be truly overwhelmed.
