Eighteen year old Canadian/Moroccan vocalist Faouzia (pronounced FOH-ZEE-UH) has released another gem of a song, with visual to match, “This Mountain” — said to be an uplifting anthem with the relatable story of overcoming challenges and battling your demons.
If you’ve been starved for a female vocal with more depth than just the popcrush candy-types we’ve been hearing for the last year, then look no further, Faouzia’s voice has a depth that gushes emotions in every word she utters.
The visual for “This Mountain,” is equally stunning — both cinematic and heartfelt, it really gives you a sense of just what the song is truly about.
Faouzia says, “This video was extremely fun to shoot, especially since it gives a spin on Ophelia’s story (from Shakespeare’s Hamlet). I don’t want to say too much, but there are many hidden messages and forms of symbolism that can be found throughout the video.”

On top of being a kick-ass musician/vocalist, Faouzia is also multi-lingual (fluent in Arabic, French, and English!) AND studying engineering at University — chances are you can’t find a cooler emerging female artist at the moment.
