The prize is described as a "newly refurbished one bed flat". It's close to both Brixton and Clapham and has a rental potential of £1900 per month! The property boasts a private balcony that the owners say has held 25 people at one time. A floor plan, photos and even a 3D Tour of the property are shown online.

The owners aim to sell a minimum of 120,000 tickets (reduced from 150,000 in April 2019) for this property. However, the sales window of just two months is pretty narrow. An option to extend the promotion is within the terms and conditions. To enter the competition you'll need to answer a question. This is asked after payment. You are given 30 seconds to answer.

If the house is won then three £1000 prizes will also be awarded. However, in the event that not enough tickets are sold then a cash prize will be awarded. The cash prize will be less a charitable donation, although the terms do not indicate that an admin fee will be taken. The charities that are being supported are Emmaus, Housing For Women and Centrepoint.

Free Entry

As far as we can tell, there isn't a free postal entry route for this competition. However, paying participants can earn free entries by referring friends to enter. This is one of the first win a home competitions we've seen that have opted for this approach. There's no indication how many referrals you can make, although there is a purchase limit of 100 tickets.

Raffle House aims to offer more properties to be won via it's site. To faciliatate this, entrants are required to register and payments are taken online. The site is simple to use and of a high standard.

Extended Closing Dates

On June 4th, Raffle House announced that their closing date would be changed from June 15th to November 25th 2018. As of November 2018 the closing date has been extended to the end of June 2019. Raffle House have explained their decision to entrants via email and awarded them an extra free entry.

Whilst we're not a fan of multiple closing date extensions, Raffle House have tackled the change in an appropriate way. Hopefully this means that by June 2019 that they'll be a winner of the property. In addition to the closing date change, they've also adjusted the entry process of the competition and added a £3000 lump-sum to cover the property's first year running costs.

Cash Prize Winner

Despite valiant attempts, Raffle House were unable to create a home winner. Instead Lois Wright received a cheque for over £170,000! The competition sold 80,925 generating £406,625 in revenues. Raffle House have blogged about the financials including explaining why 50% of revenues were retained by the company. Charities received just under £14,000 whilst admin fees cost over £15,000.
