Afternoon tea is a sacrosanct tradition at The Royal, ever since Queen Victoria enjoyed taking some afternoon refreshment at the hotel when visiting Ventnor.
Afternoon Tea is served 3-5pm in our conservatory and brasserie, with outside dining subject to table availability on the day. Our Royal Afternoon Tea* includes finger sandwiches, cakes, patisseries and scones at £29 per person or choose to add some sparkle with our Champagne Afternoon Tea* at £41 per person.
*Booking is essential and a minimum of 24 hours notice is required when booking afternoon tea.

In addition to our full afternoon tea offering, you can drop in for our Traditional English Cream Tea including freshly baked scones, home-made strawberry jam, clotted cream and a choice of artisan herbal or black teas. Or treat yourself to an afternoon pick-me-up with our special Cake o’Clock option: a slice of your favourite cake and barista-made coffee. These items are served 3-5pm, subject to availability on the day.
