This photographic safari encompassing Kenya and Tanzania is a Beck favorite and will provide a superb combination of incredible game viewing and safari camps in East Africa. We have custom-crafted this departure to include four of the best-appointed camps in East Africa – Kenya’s Kichwa Tembo Masai Mara Tented Camp, Tanzania’s Serengeti Under Canvas, Lake Manyara Tree Lodge, and concluding the trip in one of the most architecturally spectacular safari properties in Africa, the Ngorongoro Crater Lodge. About Barry & Cathy Beck Longtime Frontiers trip hosts and photographers, the Becks travel far and wide to follow their love for fly fishing and nature photography. Based in Pennsylvania, Barry and Cathy write books, host fly fishing departures, lead African photo safaris, and operate a stock photography business. The Becks are well-known in the fishing, photography, and travel industries, and possess a stellar reputation for their skill, knowledge, and expertise born out of a 20 year career. Friday, July 26
Upon arrival of Nairobi Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, please proceed through Kenya Customs and Immigration Services. You will be met in the Arrivals Hall by our local representative and transferred by road to Ole Sereni Hotel. Please note US Citizens will require a visa for entry to Kenya which may be obtained in advance or upon arrival. Accommodation: Ole Sereni Hotel - Deluxe Room Inclusions: Accommodations based on a Bed & Breakfast basis.
Saturday, July 27
After breakfast, you will be transferred to Wilson Airport for the SafariLink Aviation flight departing at 10:00 AM to Kichwa Tembo Airstrip. Upon arrival of Kichwa Tembo Airstrip at 11:00 AM, you will be met by a representative who will transfer you to camp. Accommodation: &Beyond Kichwa Tembo Tented Camp - Superior View Tented Room Inclusions: Accommodations based on a full board basis inclusive of three meals daily, teas and coffees, soft drinks, house wines, local brand spirits and beers, (premium imported beverages excluded), two scheduled game drives per day, airstrip transfers and laundry.

Enjoy three full days of game viewing in Kenya’s Masai Mara National Reserve. Covering an area of 858 square miles, the Masai Mara is land of breath taking vistas, abundant wildlife and endless plains. The reserve is a photographer’s and naturalist’s paradise with abundant elephant, buffalo, giraffe, lion and cheetah along with the migratory wildebeest and zebra. Leopards are frequently encountered, endangered black rhino find retreat in dense thickets, and pods of hippo and large crocodiles are found in the Mara River. The Mara is also home to over 450 bird species.
Wednesday, July 31
Today, you will be transferred to Kichwa Tembo Airstrip for the SafariLink Aviation flight departing at 11:30 AM to Migori Airstrip. Upon arrival of Migori Airstrip at 12:00 PM, you will be met and driven across the border to Tarime Airstrip (approximately 1 ½ hours’ drive), where you will clear Tanzania Customs and Immigrations in time for the Coastal Aviation flight departing at 2:00 PM to Kogatende Airstrip. Please note US Citizens will require a visa for entry to Tanzania which may be obtained in advance or upon arrival. Upon arrival of Kogatende Airstrip at 2:50 PM, a representative from Serengeti Under Canvas will greet you and escort you to camp. Accommodation: &Beyond Serengeti Under Canvas - Bedouin Style Tented Room Inclusions: Accommodations based on a full board basis inclusive of three meals daily, soft drinks, house wines, local brand spirits and beers, teas and coffees (premium imported beverages excluded), scheduled safari activities, refreshments on game drives and laundry.

Enjoy three full days of game viewing in the Serengeti National Park. Famed for its vast treeless grasslands and excellent wildlife sightings, the endless open plains of Tanzania’s magnificent Serengeti National Park boast 35 species of plains-dwelling game and prolific birdlife. The annual movement of wildebeest and other herbivores across East Africa’s Serengeti-Mara ecosystem is one of the greatest spectacles in the natural world. Over two million animals participate in this great migration, with some 200,000 zebra ahead of and 500,000 Thomson’s gazelle behind the main players - one and a half million wildebeest. The wildebeest spend the wet season on the south eastern Tanzanian plains and the Serengeti’s dry season on the plains of Kenya’s Masai Mara. The &Beyond Serengeti Under Canvas camps follow the Great Migration, bringing guests as close as possible to all the action.

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the Kogatende Airstrip for the Coastal Aviation flight departing at 9:25 AM to Manyara Airstrip. Upon arrival of Manyara Airstrip at 11:25 AM, you will be met and driven to Lake Manyara Tree Lodge (drive time is approximately 3 ½ hours and is a game drive transfer). Accommodation: &Beyond Lake Manyara Tree Lodge - Treehouse Inclusions: Accommodations based on a full board basis inclusive of three meals daily, soft drinks, house wines, local brand spirits and beers, teas and coffee, (premium imported beverages excluded), scheduled safari activities, refreshments on game drives and laundry service.
Monday, August 5
Enjoy a game drive today in Lake Manyara National Park and then a game drive this evening to observe nocturnal wildlife.
Tuesday, August 6
After breakfast this morning, you will be transferred to Manyara via a scenic game drive (game drive is approximately 3 ½ hours). Upon arrival of Manyara, switch vehicles and continue on with the road transfer to the Ngorongoro Crater Lodge (drive time is approximately 1 ½ hours). Accommodation: &Beyond Ngorongoro Crater Lodge - Suite Inclusions: Accommodations based on a full board basis inclusive of three meals daily, soft drinks, house wines, local brand spirits and beers, teas and coffee, (premium imported beverages excluded), refreshments on game drives, and laundry.

Wednesday, August 7
Depart at first light on a game drive down into the Ngorongoro Crater. Upon conclusion of the morning game drive, guests will be treated to a delicious lunch, prepared by expert chefs. Complete with elegant chair covers, white tablecloth, crystal glasses and red long stemmed roses, a team of butlers is also on hand to offer world class service. A grand dining table will be set up in a scenic spot within a striking fever tree forest.
Thursday, August 8
At the appropriate time today, you will be met at the Ngorongoro Crater Lodge and driven to Manyara Airstrip (drive time is approximately 1 ½ hours) where you will depart at 11:25 AM on the Coastal Aviation flight to Kilimanjaro. Upon arrival of Kilimanjaro International Airport at 12:30 PM, you will connect onwards to the SafariLink Aviation flight departing at 1:50 PM to Nairobi’s Wilson Airport. Upon arrival at Wilson Airport at 2:45 PM, you will be met and transferred to Ole Sereni Hotel, located near the international airport. Accommodation: Ole Sereni Hotel - Deluxe Room Inclusions: Accommodations based on a Bed & Breakfast basis.
Friday, August 9
At the appropriate time, you will be transferred to Nairobi Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and assisted to check-in for your international flight back home. (A dayroom can be reserved on your behalf at an additional cost.)

$20,995 per person based on double occupancy Single supplement fee: $8,000 per person. Optional Hot Air Ballooning over the Mara: $515.00 per person (July 28) *Rates based on a group of 12 guests and subject to currency fluctuation and change for 2019. Deposit: A $5,000 per person deposit will be due to secure a reservation; a second deposit of $5,000 will be due March 30, 2018; balance due April 2, 2019. Deposits and final payments are non-refundable unless client replacement can be found. Travel Insurance is highly recommended. All costs are based on a minimum group size of 12 participants; should the group fall below 12, a small group supplement may apply. As you will be traveling in vehicles and aircraft with limited space, luggage is required to be packed in a soft bag weighing a maximum of 15kg (33 lbs) which includes hand luggage. Refund/Cancellation Policy: Upon confirmation and acceptance of the proposed itinerary, cancellations received 120 days or more prior to departure will be subject to a 30% penalty unless specifically indicated in the itinerary. Cancellations received 119 days – 91 days prior to departure will forfeit 40% of the tour cost; 90 days – 60 days prior to departure will forfeit 50% of the tour cost; less than 60 days prior to departure will forfeit 100% of the tour cost.
