Local NASCAR and Las Vegas Motor Speedway fans are in for a treat this summer, thanks to the Passport 2 the Playoffs promotion that kicks off today.

Nevada residents age 21 and up are eligible for the inaugural Passport 2 the Playoffs promotion, which will award prizes for fans who travel to a quartet of Las Vegas-area locations to have their passports stamped at promotional events from July 3-24.

The month-long program will begin at The Bullring's Night of Fire on Wednesday, July 3, with fans having the chance to get their passports stamped at the highly popular short track event.

Passports and Night of Fire tickets will be mailed out to participants who pre-register. Three more chances will follow the Night of Fire, including a stop at the South Point Hotel, Casino & Spa.

Passport 2 the Playoffs schedule

  • Stop 1: Night of Fire at The Bullring at LVMS, July 3, 5-10 p.m. Pacific Time
  • Stop 2: PT's Gold, 2135 E. Centennial Parkway, July 10, 6-7:30 p.m.

  • Stop 4: South Point 400 Bar, South Point Hotel, Casino & Spa, July 24, 6-7:30 p.m.

Fans who get their passports stamped at three of the four stops will be entered to win the Grand Prize, a one-of-a-kind package that will include a weekend stay for two at the South Point, a food and beverage credit, two suite tickets for the South Point 400 race weekend, a pampering session at the LVMS infield spa, two NASCAR hot passes, South Point 400 driver meeting access, a Victory Lane experience and a Maverick Helicopter flight to and from the track on Sunday. Anyone visiting all four locations will receive a bonus contest entry.

All four passport stamping events will feature free raffles for attendees that will include major prizes like driver intro passes, a Maverick Helicopter Las Vegas experience and NASCAR hot passes.

Fans who are unable to attend a Passport 2 the Playoffs event can stop by the LVMS Ticket/Gift Shop building on weekdays to receive a "makeup stamp" in order to remain eligible for the grand prize. Only one makeup stamp will be allowed per person.

The South Point 400 - set for Sunday, Sept. 15 - will kick off the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs for the second consecutive year at the 1.5-mile speedway. It will serve as the anchor for LVMS's second NASCAR tripleheader of the weekend, with the World of Westgate 200 Gander Outdoors Truck Series race taking place on Sept. 13 and the Las Vegas 300 NASCAR Xfinity Series race running on Sept. 14.
