On the largest of the Ten Thousand Islands, at the southwestern tip of Florida 17 miles from Naples, this Balinese-style beach resort was designed to be a "Hawaii of the East Coast." In January 2019, the resort unveiled a $320 million renovation project that includes the reimagined Lanai Tower and suites. Several new restaurants have been added: Tesoro, the new signature restaurant; 10K Alley, a gastropub and entertainment space; Kane Tiki Bar & Grill, and Ario (Korals, the cocktail and sushi bar overlooking the Gulf, remains). The property was upgraded to a JW Marriott in early 2017 and exclusive SPA by JW concept with treatments organized by four distinct benefit states: renew, calm, invigorate, and indulge, with express and full-length treatments—one of only three SPA by JW branches in the U.S.
