LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Wednesday morning will likely be the third time congress votes to impeach a president in U.S. history. On Tuesday night, hundreds of people who support impeachment gathered outside the federal courthouse in downtown Las Vegas.

“I'm here because I need to make sure that they hear my voice,” said Debra Smith. “And they understand that the people, the real people out here, want this man to be impeached! Period."

The demonstration was one of 500 "Nobody Is Above the Law" protests in 50 states that were mobilized online.

WHAT NEVADA POLITICIANS HAVE TO SAY:

“They tend to respond to seeing bodies in the street and phone calls that clog up their voice mail,” said Kristine Schachinger. “And if nobody is there, they think it’s OK, sort of an implied consent."

Protesters called for President Trump's impeachment and his removal from office.

But it was not held without some opposition. A smaller number of people supporting President Trump held a counter demonstration and said they also have a message for congress and the Democratic Party.

"They don’t have any laws that Trump has broken,” said Tamara McElroy. “He did everything perfect. His speech with Zelensky was perfect. He hasn’t broken any laws. They haven’t proven he's broken any laws."

“I think this is a campaign for the democratic party,” said Peter Pellegrino.

“I don’t feel like they have anybody out there that's strong enough at this point to go up against Trump. So, this is their way to try and knock him down instead of actually getting a decent candidate.”
