The U.S. Physician Workforce Data Dashboard was launched in 2023, combining data previously published in the State Physician Workforce Data Report and Physician Specialty Data Report.
The State Physician Workforce Data Report was published biennially between 2007 and 2021. The report provided state-specific data about active physicians and physicians in training, in a series of figures, tables, and maps that provide detailed statistics on active physicians, MD and DO students, residents, and fellows.
