KIT RICH

I am a multi-passionate fitness entrepreneur, storyteller, and now feature film director. In addition to being a top fitness coach who has helped train some of the world’s most recognizable and award-winning celebrities, including Jennifer Lawrence and Kesha, I’ve also built an online community that’s helped thousands learn to love their bodies and achieve their health and fitness goals. This hard work has led to my being named one of the Top Five trainers in Los Angeles by SHAPE Magazine and being featured for my work on The Today Show, E Network, Access Hollywood, Extra, PopSugar, VOGUE, and Women’s Health—to name a few. I’ve also worked with brands such as Lucy Activewear, REI, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Kellogg's, the W Hotel, Avalon Hotel, Phillips, and Jeep.

What you might not know about me is that I’ve always been a writer. I’m an accomplished playwright and have written several plays, including "See You, Maybe" which in its first run starred actress Simone Missick, whose roles include Judge Lola Carmichael, for the CBS drama series “All Rise,” and the role of Trepp for the Netflix science-fiction series “Altered Carbon.” My essays have been featured in multiple publications such as the LA Times and SELF magazine.

Now, I’m focusing the same energy I bring to fitness and fueling my latest creative endeavor — filmmaking. I’ve recently wrapped on my debut feature film ISABEL’S GARDEN, which I wrote and directed. I’m deeply interested in showcasing real people facing the real challenges of life, and, like in fitness—it’s a frequent theme in my creative work.
ISABEL’S GARDEN follows Maya, a career-obsessed journalist whose life is drastically altered after her husband, Diego, is abruptly killed in a car accident. Maya, who is more enveloped in her work than family or relationships, must suddenly shift her focus as she is tasked with helping raise Diego’s fifteen-year-old daughter, Isabel, alongside his ex-wife.

ISABEL’S GARDEN stars, Karen David (“Fear the Walking Dead”), Gabriela Flores (“Once Upon a Time in Hollywood”), Valery M. Ortiz (“Gabby Duran and The Unsittables”), Jayne Taini (“Station 19”), and Manuel Rafael Lozano (9-1-1).

And while I’ll never truly leave fitness behind, I hope my transition into filmmaking inspires you to let your passions and creativity lead you to where life calls you. It’s never too late to listen to your heart and to take a chance on you.
