Evan Clark

Evan Clark has earned a 2020 Critical Language Scholarship. Clark will travel to Nizhny Novgorod, Russia to study the Russian language at Lobachevsky State University. Unfortunately, due to the global pandemic, this scholarship has been cancelled.

The Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) Program is a summer overseas language and cultural immersion program for American undergraduate and graduate students fully funded by the State Department. The program aims to broaden the base of Americans studying and mastering critical languages and build relationships between the people of the United States and other countries.

I am grateful for this excellent opportunity to enhance my Russian-language skills in an immersion environment while adjusting to Russian culture. This program will advance the language skills I developed last summer during the STARTALK Russian Language and Culture Immersion Program in Los Angeles."
