Birmingham City Council

The UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) and Birmingham City Council are seeking to support businesses in the West Midlands, to help them reduce their environmental impact and decrease the rising energy costs that companies are experiencing.

The assistance from NZGP is in the form of a grant contribution of between £2,500 – £7,500 for brand new start-ups, or businesses trading less than 6 months looking to consolidate.

The assistance from NZGP is in the form of a grant contribution of between £5,000 – £100,000 for existing businesses, trading for more than 6 months.

The capital grants will support businesses to purchase assets that will assist them in becoming more efficient and cost effective.

Grants will cover energy and resource efficiency improvements to business premises. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Solar Panels
  • Wind Turbines
  • Ventilation (fans, distribution, destratification fans)
  • Heating (replacement boilers, burners, heat pumps)
  • Renewable technologies
  • Lighting (LED, controls, sensors)
  • Refrigeration
  • Compressors
  • Insulation
  • Recycling & Waste (compactors, balers & crushers)

Most applications are expected to apply for an average grant of between £10,000 to £20,000. Only in exceptional circumstances will grants above this be considered. This is to make sure that the limited NZGP budget is given to as many businesses as possible.

Grant funding is limited and offered on a first come, first served basis.
