NACDS applauds the enactment of the modernization of Iowa’s Pharmacy Practice Act (House File 555), legislation that will help ensure patient access to vital healthcare services provided by pharmacists and pharmacies across the state. Signed into law by Governor Kim Reynolds, the law will implement a “standard of care” regulatory model and remove burdensome restrictions on pharmacy practice so that Iowans maintain ready access to pharmacists’ full training and education. During 2024 #NACDSANNUAL, NACDS elected new officers and five newly elected Board of Directors members for the coming year. Additionally, NACDS re-elected two Board of Directors members whose terms were set to expire.   Kevin Host, PharmD, senior vice president of Pharmacy, Walmart, will serve as the new chair of the NACDS Board of Directors, succeeding Mike Wysong, chief executive officer of CARE Pharmacies, Inc., who completed his term and who will remain on the NACDS Board of Directors.   Rick Gates, senior vice president and chief pharmacy officer, Walgreens Co., was elected NACDS vice chair, and David Warner, president and chief executive officer, KPH HEALTHCARE SERVICES, INC., was elected NACDS treasurer.   Warner and Karen Staniforth, chief pharmacy officer, RITE AID Corporation, were also newly elected to the NACDS Executive Committee.   Five new NACDS Board of Directors members were also elected:   Jeremy Gosch, chief executive officer, Hy-Vee, Inc.  Andre Persaud, president and chief executive officer of retail, Cub Foods/UNFI Mike Stigers, president, Wakefern Food Corp./ShopRite  Jim Tsipakis, executive vice president and president, supermarkets and pharmacy, Giant Eagle, Inc.  Jennifer Zilka, president, Good Neighbor Pharmacy    More on the 2024-2025 NACDS Leadership: https://bit.ly/3Uj6J9q
