HELENA, Mont. (KUMV) - Rep. Matt Rosendale, R-MT, plans on running for reelection later this year. He also has decided to support Senate Republican candidate Tim Sheehy.

In a statement this week, Rosendale says Republicans need to focus on defeating incumbent Sen. Jon Tester, D-MT, in November.

“Jon Tester is Chuck Schumer with a flattop. He’s New York’s third Senator and he must be retired. To do that, we must unify as a party,” said Rosendale.

The announcement comes weeks after repeated attacks by Rosendale against Sheehy for being an establishment pick. Rosendale announced a Senate bid against Sheehy, but ended the run a week later, citing former President Trump’s endorsement of Sheehy.

Sheehy responded to the announcement, saying he’s looking forward to working with him in House.

“It’s time to unite and win back the White House, retake the Senate, and expand our House majority. It’s time to save America,” said Sheehy on X.
