Wayne (Jono) Hutt FLPI made his way to see the First Hyperloop team in the UK (HYPED) earlier this month, filled with excitement for another Super Skills workshop. This time, the focus was on mastering time management! ⏱️ The team shared, "Thank you to RS for coming and running another workshop! We've definitely gained a few more techniques on Time Management to put to good use. Once again, we are grateful for their support and look forward to working together again." 🙌 #WeAreRS #HYPED #Hyperloop #SuperSkills

Senior Design Engineer at The Washing Machine Project

Within 6 months of joining The Washing Machine Project I have had this incredible full circle opportunity. 🌍 Week 1: Set up a mini production line at RS Group plc headquarters, Corby. Build Divya washing machines with the 100+ amazing RS Components volunteers. 🛠 Week 15: Travel the busy streets of Nairobi, Kenya & vibrant communities of Kampala, Uganda. First gaining user insight into the challenges of hand washing clothes in each context. Then delivering Divya washing machines, receiving feedback and understanding the impact. 👕 👖 While there are countless stories I could share, what stands out most is the generosity and resilience of the communities we visited. This journey has been eye opening and at times emotional, but above all it reaffirmed the importance of our work. These types of projects don’t just happen, it's the dedication of key individuals including part suppliers, logistics, local community impact partners, and those who provide resources. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for being part of this incredible journey.  Together, we are making a difference, one wash at a time. 💙

For over 17 years Mayuri Patel has been part of the RS family. We caught up for a chat to discuss what her current role is all about, her favourite memories and why she had stayed with the business for almost two decades. Q1. Hi Mayuri, what does a typical day look like for you as a Continuous Improvement Practitioner? Mayuri: "As a CI practitioner, my role is to drive ongoing enhancements within the organisation. This involves coaching, developing and supporting my colleagues in their projects, as well as leading initiatives around continuous improvement. "After work I head home to my two lively boys, who never fail to keep me on my toes. We embark on an evening filled with homework, playtime and cooking up a storm together. Our family dinner is a cherished moment, where we unwind and share stories of our day. Then it's off to bed, ready to embrace whatever adventures tomorrow may bring." Q2. What is your favourite thing about working at RS? Mayuri: "Since I was 18, RS has been my steadfast companion through every twist and turn of life. Through personal and professional highs and lows, RS has remained a constant source of support. It's within this company that I have grown from a Warehouse Associate to a Team Leader, then progressed further to a Team Manager and finally found my footing in Continuous Improvement. "The journey with RS has been profound, offering me a diverse array of experiences and invaluable life lessons along the way. This company holds a very special place in my heart, a testament to the meaningful impact it has had on my development." Q3. What has been your stand out memory over the past 17 years with RS? Mayuri: "Recently I had the opportunity to lead on a project around single-use plastics at our Nuneaton Distribution Centre, which has now reached it's pinnacle. This project has been a significant stride towards our ESG strategy and its accomplishments have been noteworthy. As the project lead, I've was granted the privilege of participating in our Earth Day Live Event on LinkedIn and discuss the project's impact and significance." #RSLife #RSCareers #Nuneaton #CI

Since last year, RS DACH has been collecting old cables from unusable returns, at its site in Bad Hersfeld and donating them to the non-profit organization MainLichtblick e.V. in Frankfurt. 🙌 Whether thick or thin, with or without a plug, from kitchen appliances, speakers or telephones: old cables are collected, which are sold as copper scrap. The proceeds are used entirely to fulfil the wishes of affected children who suffer from serious illnesses, are physically impaired or have had a traumatic experience. ♻️ Cable recycling is also environmental protection: the extraction of copper consumes a lot of resources and huge amounts of energy. Every gram of copper that can be melted down again protects nature. Using modern techniques, the scrap copper can be processed in such a way that it becomes completely pure again. #RSDACH #MakingAmazingHappen #ForABetterWorld #WeAreRS #OurPeople #ESG
