GLCPS Bus Involved in Crash

One of our buses was involved in a motor vehicle accident on Monday, May 13 while the students were being transported to GLCPS. While none of the students sustained serious injury, the bus driver was being evaluated for possible injuries caused by the crash.

GLCPS Benefactor and Philanthropist Joan Jacobs Dies

Joan K. Jacobs passed away this week. She was 91 years old. Mrs. Jacobs was well-known for her generosity, philanthropy and support of institutions in both San Diego and in New Bedford. She was the wife of Dr. Irwin Jacobs, the founder of Qualcomm and a native of New Bedford.

More Accolades for Retiring GLCPS Executive Director

As the school year winds down, there are many people who want to celebrate and thank our long-time Executive Directer, Dr. Stephen Furtado. Last week, for example, Michael Rock, Maddie Levine and Gazelle came to GLCPS and helped a crowd of students and staff surprise Dr. Furtado after he was nominated as Teacher of the Month.
