In an Italian-American fever dream at this year’s #BroadwayBackwards, Bradley Dean portrayed a Godfather archetype advising his son’s suitor, played by Nicholas Park, to “Be Italian” in the signature song from Nine. Joined by a gaggle of gregarious gangsters, the full-out production number had the cast dancing sensually and sensationally amid red-checkered tablecloths strewn with glasses of merlot.

Take the nightly magic of @merrilyonbway, throw in a celebration of a historic TV moment and you’ve got a special Friday night on Broadway.

Back on April 5, 1961, Barbra Streisand made her television debut on The Tonight Show, which was then broadcast from the Hudson Theatre. This year on April 5, the current stars at the Hudson - Daniel Radcliffe, Jonathan Groff and @lindsaymendez - auctioned off a one-of-kind note created earlier in the week on @fallontonight by Groff and host @jimmyfallon! The signed treasure raised $3,000 for Broadway Cares. Thank you to Jimmy, Jonathan, Daniel, Lindsay and the entire company of Merrily for your show-stopping generosity, providing meals and medication for so many in need ❤️

At this year’s #BroadwayBackwards, the beloved “Why God Why?” from Miss Saigon took on new meaning when @herelieslovebway’s Arielle Jacobs worked through her complicated emotions of falling in love with Mae-Lynn Flores with rapturous vocals that immersed the audience in her inner struggle.
