Sonnhalter Tool Drive to Support Habitat for Humanity

Since 2010, Sonnhalter has been partnering with Habitat for Humanity for an Annual Tool Drive.

To date, Sonnhalter has collected more than $515,000 in donations that are placed directly into service at the Habitat job sites. The rest are sold at one of the Habitat’s ReStore locations. All items donated help keep Habitat for Humanity running.

Tool Drive Toolbox

Sonnhalter had a vision to give back to the community and partnered with Greater Cleveland Habitat for Humanity. Wishing to contribute beyond the traditional building project, the idea to create a month-long tool drive was derived in an agency brainstorming session. Sonnhalter was looking specifically to find a cause that aligned with our client base, dedicated to serving clients in the B2T (business-to-tradesmen) industry, making the Greater Cleveland Habitat for Humanity a perfect fit and one that we could have a great impact on. Never did we fathom in that first year that the momentum of the tool drive would last 14 years!

During the month of August, the Northeast, Ohio community consisting of residents, organizations and businesses, is encouraged to bring donation items to one of the Sonnhalter Tool Donation Stations located from as far west as North Ridgeville, as far east as Mentor and as far south as Medina. Manufacturer and distributor donors are invited to ship their donations to either Sonnhalter or directly to Greater Cleveland Habitat for Humanity. Sonnhalter can also be contacted to arrange for a pickup.

Donations can be new and gently used tools, as well as cabinets, sinks, building materials, furniture and appliances, that benefit Habitat for Humanity’s cause and its efforts of eliminating substandard housing. For more information on the kinds of donations that we accept, read this handy guide.
