The five courses of the Supply Chain Certificate Program (SCM) offer an introduction to logistics, transportation, packaging, operations planning, inventory management and enterprise resource planning (ERP), among other supply chain management functions. Supply Chain Management

The goal of this course is to provide a high-level overview of the supply chain function and related concepts and to provide an understanding of the activities involved. This course will also provide a basic understanding of the analytical tools and applications used in SCM. The course will introduce students to some challenges in managing global supply chains. The course will also provide an opportunity to students to work in teams, explore a real-life situation related to concepts taught in the class.

Project Management

This course provides the knowledge of standardized terms, knowledge areas, process groups and processes defined in the Project Management Book of Knowledge (PMBOK®) which is used in project management across the world. This course will prepare students for clearly defining the scope, planning activities, budget and cost management of these activities, HR planning, communication planning, stakeholder analyses and handing over the final product or services to operations at the end of the project.

Logistics Management

This course will allow students to deepen their knowledge and understanding of various components of logistics management; its role across other functions in an enterprise; and its importance in the context of the present global business environment. The primary objective of logistics management is to provide support for storage and distribution of goods and services, from an enterprise to customers as well as any returns from customers to an enterprise with or without channel partners.

Operations Management

The operations management course covers activities related to planning in manufacturing and services. The first part of the operations management course will provide features of production/service systems, methods of modeling and control system for operations/service. Topics could include aggregate planning, forecasting techniques, work-force, and operations scheduling, material requirement planning, and managing inventory systems.

Enterprise Resource Planning

This course provides the basic structure of an ERP system in an organization. This course will provide training on various aspects of SCM functions in an ERP system such as how to create/modify/delete an item master, a vendor master, a purchase order/a contract, request an advance from accounts, check inventory of raw material, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods and look for demands.
