Stunning images from @tfjj of a fitting automotive tribute to the late, great Sir Stirling Moss.

Here is 300 SLR #722, which was driven to victory in the 1955 Mille Miglia, the 300SL ‘recce’ car used by Moss to familiarise himself with the route, as well as the the W196 F1 car. What a stunning lineup, and a wonderful tribute to a British motorsport legend.

We're proud to announce that our show later this year will feature one of the most historically significant Porsches of all: the original 1973 911 Turbo ‘Prototype’. This special car represents the genesis of an icon; it was the first road-going 911 to wear the ‘Turbo’ badge.

A special guest pictured arriving at the memorial service for the late, great Sir Stirling Moss, held at Westminster Abbey: the Mercedes-Benz 300SLR ‘722’.

In Moss’ hands, this legendary car set the all time record on the 1955 Mille Miglia, averaging a scarcely believable 99mph over the road route, and cementing both their places in motorsport history.

One of the most significant British racing machines. The fabulous two-time Le Mans winning Bentley Speed Six Old Number 1, which was part of our Le Mans centenary celebration last year. This car took its first Le Mans crown in 1929, with Bentley CEO Woolf Barnato and Tim Birkin at the wheel. It then repeated the trick in 1930, with Barnato and Glen Kidston fending off the challenge of the Mercedes-Benz SSK to win.
