LACO concludes the season with nods to the past and an eye towards the future. The world premiere of GLITTER MONSTER, by 2023/24 Sound Investment Composer Nina Shekhar is complemented by Gabriela Montero’s rendition of Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 24 in C minor and Schubert’s Symphony No. 9 in C major, his final symphonic work.

CHAPLIN + THE IMMIGRANT

Experience an extraordinary fusion of music and the magic of cinema at the Academy of Motion Picture Art and Sciences’s Linwood Dunn Theater at the Pickford Center for Motion Picture Study. Dive deep into masterpieces by Stravinsky, Shostakovich, and Rachmaninoff featuring LACO musicians and Venezuelan pianist Gabriela Montero. Then take a cinematic journey with a special, live, improvised performance by Montero to Charlie Chaplin’s timeless 1917 classic The Immigrant.
