Giro d’Italia 2023 comes to a finish with Primoz Roglic winner. #Rome saw cyclists come into the final stretch of Italy’s prized race across the country. Cyclists covered a total of 3.469 km, climbing 51.400 meters in all – with #Trelleborgtires as official partner with them all the way. We were proud to support this 106th edition and show off our shared values of perseverance, community, innovation, sustainability and team spirit. Cyclists sprinted past the Trelleborg "Traguardo Volante" halfway line each day. But the main attraction was our huge pink tire marking our presence as a supporter of this great historic event and for the #cyclingcommunity at large. Sports Villages welcomed thousands of visitors and our team was ready to meet & greet them at our stand playing games and doing fun challenges to win prizes and gadgets. And that’s not all: a special tractor in a #pink livery, a limited edition in occasion of the #GirodItalia, from our long-term OE partner New Holland Agriculture, fitted with our Trelleborg tires caught everyone’s attention. Starting from the 2nd of May, TWS is officially part of The Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd., operating under the name “Yokohama TWS” as a new company. With the change of ownership, we closed a successful chapter in our history with the Trelleborg Group turning a new page with a leading player in the tire industry. Over the last few years, we have delivered continuous business growth, combining strategic acquisitions with dedicated investments, and this has allowed us to build a strong and sustainable platform supported by a global manufacturing footprint, innovative products and solutions and an extensive sales network in close proximity to our customers. I'm really proud of what the TWS team has been able to achieve so far and I feel honored that Yokohama has decided to invest in us, building together with their existing business, a new leading player in the off-highway segment. This acquisition demonstrates that our strength is not only in our excellent assets but also in our team and the way we have worked together over the last few decades.

We strive to ensure everyone can develop their own talent and build a successful and long-lasting career with us. And we have lots of success stories to tell, like this one: May 2023. It’s late evening when marco pantalena finally gets home after a busy day meeting his Material Handling customers. He’s been busy listening to their needs and discussing how to make their business more profitable using our unique range of tires and solutions. But just a few months earlier, Marco’s work life was quite different, and a few years back…even more so. Marco joined our team in September 2015 with a temporary contract as a Tire Fitter. Thanks to his commitment and engagement his contract was renewed with an open term contract and his career path had a couple of more twists in store for him. In January 2017, his manager couldn’t help noticing his strong manual and precision skills and offered him to take up the position of Onsite Fitter, which meant more responsibility and direct interaction with customers. Working as an Onsite Fitter, Marco demonstrated his sales skills while gaining more confidence with our products. So, after a few years delivering impeccable service and a growing understanding of customer needs, it seemed everything was aligned for what came next. Marco started an intensive sales induction training and by January 2023, he was ready to take up the highly coveted role of Sales Representative for the Material Handling segment. Marco’s story stands out as testimony to how each one of us can build our own career path with dedication and commitment. And it’s a clear sign of the attention that our company takes toward developing our people and helping them achieve their full potential.
