Campground FAQs
Is the campground open year round?
Yes! The campground is open year round. However, the summer season is very busy and we recommend making reservations in advance.
How far in advance can I make a reservation?
Reservations can be made a year in advance of the day of your arrival.
Do you provide shuttles to the park for campground guests?
Yes! Based on host availability, we are able to shuttle campers during the summer season from the campground store to the Visitor Information Center from the hours of 9 am to 5 pm daily.
Do you allow dogs?
The campground is pet-friendly. We do ask that all dogs remain on leashes and that you do your duty after your pet does theirs. A dog park is located at the campground and is available for use to Kentucky Horse Park campground guests, horse show competitors, and park guests.
How do I make a reservation?
Reservations may be made on ReserveAmerica.com. If you do not have Internet access, you may place a reservation by calling Reserve America at (888) 4KY-PARK or (888) 459-7275. Groups of 20 or more, please call (859) 259-4257 or (800) 370-6416. Maximum stay is 14 days unless approved by Campground management. Check in time is 2:00 p.m. Check out time is 12:00 noon. All guests are required to check in at the Campground store upon arrival before going to their site.

While watching over the security of the park, its visitors and horses, the KHP Mounted Police can be seen 24 hours a day, 365 days of a year, patrolling the parksโ 1,200 + acres. All ticket sales are transacted during Defender event and will take place at general admission ticket locations. No tickets will be sold at the KHP Visitor Center.

๐ ๐ด It`s another Hall of Champions Birthday! Two-Time Steeplechase Timber Horse of the Year, Andi`Amu, celebrates his 14th birthday today! ๐
Andiโamu, sired by Walk in the Park (IRE) in 2010, began his flat racing career in France as a two year old before switching to jump racing in the United Kingdom a year later.
In 2015, he was purchased by Ballybristol Farm LLC and brought to the United States, where he began his steeplechase career over hurdles. He made the switch to timber racing in 2018, where his keen jumping ability, stamina, and strong gallop made him a formidable force over fences.
Andiโamu was retired to the Kentucky Horse Parkโs Hall of Champions in 2023, with a record of 49 starts, 15 firsts, (10 In Stakes races) 12 seconds and five-thirds. His lifetime earnings of $544,400 is impressive considering the shorter race seasons and lower purses for timber races.
