Created in 1999, Revelations: An Interdisciplinary Approach curriculum utilizes Alvin Ailey's signature work, Revelations, as the inspirational framework for a comprehensive study of language arts, social studies, and dance.This program is designed to promote student learning by engaging their analytic and creative thinking skills, while introducing them to the work and mission of Alvin Ailey. Students explore and embody the life story of Alvin Ailey and Revelations, while connecting this story to their own life experiences, community, and the broader world around them.

Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater Returns To Atlanta's Fabulous Fox Theatre From February 20-23 With "AILEY REVEALED" Season Performances As Part Of 2020 United States Tour To 21 Cities

ATLANTA – UPDATED February 18, 2020 – Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, beloved as one of the world’s most popular dance companies, returns to the Fabulous Fox Theatre from February 20 – 23 for six dynamic performances featuring three separate programs that bring the “Ailey Revealed” 2020 season to Atlanta and 21 cities across the United States. Led by Artistic Director Robert Battle, Ailey’s 32 extraordinary dancers will bring to life two topical world premieres that shine a spotlight on social issues – celebrated choreographer Donald Byrd’s Greenwood and Ailey Dancer and Resident Choreographer Jamar Roberts’ Ode. Company premieres and new productions will be presented by preeminent choreographers Aszure Barton, Camille A. Brown, Judith Jamison and Darrell Moultrie. Alvin Ailey’s must-see American masterpiece Revelations will culminate each program.

Ailey Leads Acclaimed Revelations Residency Program For Local Students In Advance Of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater's Performances At The Arsht Center, February 20-23, Led By Miami Native and Artistic Director Robert Battle

The Ailey organization is proud to share its mission with the Miami community by using dance as a vehicle to educate, inspire and enlighten people of all ages through the acclaimed Revelations: An Interdisciplinary Approach program. The residency will serve Miami students from February 10-14 at Booker T. Washington High School and Young Men's Preparatory Academy, the first time ever implementation at an all boys school.

For 21 years former Alvin Ailey principal dancer Nasha Thomas has traveled to Atlanta with a singular mission. In an age when many public schools have gutted or cut back on their arts programs, the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and Thomas - in a long and important collaboration with the city - haven shown the value of art in individual lives. The founder of the renowned New York City-based Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Ailey, who died in 1989, was an advocate for the importance of arts education and believed that bringing the arts to underprivileged communities and to public schools was vital.

The Baltimore Sun - Ravens Defensive Tackle And Alvin Ailey Dancer Swap Moves To Launch New School Program

Few fans of football and modern dance will ever get to see the two worlds collide on stage. Tuesday afternoon at Henderson-Hopkins Partnership School, about 55 students from Henderson-Hopkins Partnership School and Baltimore Leadership School for Young Women witnessed just that as Ravens defensive tackle Brandon Williams cut the rug with Courtney Celeste Spears, a Baltimore native and a dancer with the acclaimed Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater.
