The mainstreaming of the Circular Economy in Africa is critical to global efforts to ensure sustainable growth and the impact on jobs, growth, environment on the continent.
The African Circular Economy Alliance (ACEA) is a government-led coalition of African nations with a mission to spur Africa's transformation to a circular economy that delivers economic growth, jobs, and positive environmental outcomes.

The Alliance serves as a platform that supports the transition to a circular economy at the national, regional, and continental levels through
(i) policy development
(ii) leadership and advocacy
(iii) support in scaling CE businesses and projects.
ACEA enables African countries to leverage circular solutions to tackle several multifaceted challenges such as poverty, poor infrastructure, and unemployment, among other factors that have hindered economic growth.

The Alliance's Secretariat is hosted by the African Development Bank and supported by the Africa Circular Economy Facility (ACEF), established by the Bank and the sole multi-donor trust fund dedicated to the mainstreaming of Circular Economy in Africa.
