June 20, 1938 Laszlo Fischer is born in Budapest, Hungary. In May 1944 six-year-old Laszlo, along with his older brother, is taken by Nazis and put in a Jewish ghetto in Budapest.
In February 1945 the Russians liberate the city and free the prisoners. In 1956, when the Hungarian Revolution broke out, Laszlo emigrated to Denmark where he became one of the country’s top professional soccer players. In Denmark, he met and fell in love with Vibeke and they married in 1965.
1966 Laszlo and Vibeke become the proud parents of Monica. 1967 in Amsterdam, Laszlo was part of Denmark’s national team in the Maccabiah Games, also known as the Jewish Olympics.
1969 Laszlo, Vibeke and Monica immigrate to the United States. 1976 Laszlo and Vibeke welcome baby Michael into the family
After living in New York for more than 20 years, Laszlo retires in 1990 from his job with UPS and moves the family to South Florida. Over the next 30 years the Fischer family welcomes son-in-law, Jay, daughter-in-law, Lauren, and five beautiful grandchildren, Sophie, Hailey, Jessie, Isaac and Mollie.
April 5, 2020 After fighting Covid-19 for 12 days, Laszlo loses the battle and passes away in the hospital.
