-- Join us to learn the factors that increase the likelihood of a successful conversion. --

Reaping the benefits of adaptive reuse often requires first overcoming its many challenges. Repurposing a former asset type to a new use, whether it involves a gut rehab or major retrofit, may have consequences to other parts of the building. Physical barriers within the existing structure may prevent access for citizens with disabilities. Addressing the needs of the present and the future can conflict with preserving a building’s unique and historic character. Getting government approval to adapt a building for a new use may ignite community concern and opposition.

We’re bringing together a panel of experts and public officials to discuss land use, legal, capital markets, traffic, utility, sustainability, re-engineering, design issues, and other challenges associated with adaptive reuse. And learn about the latest economic incentives and financing programs from the NJ Economic Development Authority and the NJ Board of Public Utilities.
