About gardening in Nevada

About the program

The 4-H Pollinator Habitat Program is a national program funded by the National 4-H Council and Corteva Agriscience. This 11-month program will prepare the next generation of pollinator experts in Nevada by connecting local 4-H Youth Development programs, Extension Master Gardener programs, and community organizations to plan and install pollinator habitats. Through a variety of learning experiences, teen leaders will learn how to plan, install, and work together to sustain these pollinator habitats. As a result, youth will learn more about their community and the resources it takes to plan and launch a project. Additionally, at least six of the ambassadors will have an opportunity to attend the Ignite by 4-H in March in Washington D.C. The ambassadors in this program will also have an opportunity to travel the state to interact with fellow ambassadors, learn more about pollinators, as well as work on developing a pollinator habitat in several locations throughout the state.
