Breast Health

Breast Health begins with getting to know your body better. No matter your age, it helps to learn what is normal and what is not when it comes to your breast health. Similar to other parts of the body, it is a good idea to know what changes to expect in your breasts not only during your monthly cycle, but also as you encounter different stages of life. 

Self-exams will help you stay aware of your body and its changes, making it possible for you to quickly let a doctor know if you do notice something unusual.

Breast Health Center

At the East Alabama Health Breast Health Center, our breast health team provides patients with comprehensive and personalized breast health services. Whether it is a breast cancer diagnosis, a benign breast condition, or an annual mammogram, our dedicated breast imaging physician, Dr. Cynthia Lorino, and team of health care professionals are here to help.

The Breast Health Center is equipped with the latest and greatest in breast health imaging, including three 3D mammography machines and two ultrasound machines. Our facility also has 12 private dressing rooms for patients to utilize as they prepare for their appointment. Same-day results for most breast screening is also offered.

Services provided at the Breast Health Center include: 

• 3D Mammography
• Breast ultrasounds (including automated breast ultrasound)
• Breast MRI
• Same-day results for most breast screening
• Breast cancer diagnosis, treatment and management
• Breast biopsy and other minimally invasive procedures
• Breast imaging navigator

Our Breast Health Center has also been awarded the distinction of “Breast Cancer Center of Excellence” through the American College of Radiology.
