Music as light as air…

There's something incredibly compelling about Edmund Finnis' work. His music is weightless and gleaming, suspended in time. His style is totally unique.

We've worked a lot with Ed over the last couple of years, and this show is a kind of musical portrait. If you turned his life into a playlist, then you might end up with something a little like this performance.

The show finishes with his second string quartet – a piece full of gentle movement – but our journey to Ed's newest work is a winding one. On the way, we'll wander through the central European heartland of Ligeti's Sonata for Solo Cello, witness Stravinsky's manic and folky Three Pieces for String Quartet, and bask in the hypnotic patterns and pulses of 'Company' by Philip Glass.
