What moms should really earn

It’s Women’s History Month. It’s an annual occasion to celebrate all of the amazing women out there. It’s not uncommon to hear women quit their jobs when they become mothers so they can have the time and energy to look after their kids. Have you ever sat and thought about all of the jobs that moms take on just at home? Well, at Adzuna we have and we’ve even calculated how much the average mom should be getting paid just for being a mom!

How much should moms earn?

We took a look at how much moms should be earning for all of the jobs that they do. On average, moms in the US should be earning $146,874 just for being moms! To put this into perspective, the median average US salary is $54,132. The fact that moms should be earning almost three times the amount of the average just shows how time-consuming and stressful being a mom is! To calculate this, we reviewed how long moms spend on each task per week. We then took a look at how much jobs which typically involve these tasks are paid. By multiplying the average salaries for various roles by the number of hours spent on each task, we calculated an average salary for all of the moms out there. Check out all of the roles which moms carry out in their day-to-day lives below!
