Greenhouse gas emissions

Comprehensive and regular monitoring of greenhouse gas emissions plays a key role when building emission reduction plans and assessing the impact of the measures to be taken. Monitoring data describing emission sources and activities shows us what we need to invest in to achieve carbon neutrality in the Helsinki metropolitan area. HSY’s task is to provide cities with information on annual greenhouse gas emissions by sector. We also monitor and analyse the progress of climate efforts together with cities.
