THRIVE Calumet is a school-based mental wellness program that identifies potential mental health concerns through screening and connects young people and their families to therapists or counselors in their own communities. Here is how it works:

Students in at least one grade in participating Calumet County school districts are offered the opportunity to participate in the Wellness Screen where they are able to complete an online mental health screen about their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.
If the screen uncovers a potential mental health concern, the student will meet individually with Wellness Screen staff. Telephone contact will be made with a parent/guardian to share the results of the screen, recommendations for mental wellness services and support, as well as ongoing case management.
The referral may be for a school counselor, a Samaritan therapist, or another provider in the community.
Students do NOT need to participate in Wellness Screen to participate in therapy or counseling through THRIVE Calumet.
For younger children, the screen is offered to parents/ guardians to answer questions about their students’ thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. If the screen uncovers potential mental health concerns, telephone contact will be made with the parent/guardian.

We help young people and their families with concerns like anxiety, depression, grief, self-harm, bullying, family problems, substance abuse disorders, and other issues.
