Is breeding (still) in the meadows?
Occupying a growing share of the earth's surface, the livestock ecosystem (and the cultivation of soil to feed the animals) is more than ever at the heart of food issues. While industrial livestock farming is under fire, sustainable livestock farming and quality products are gaining ground. And sometimes they are opposed to Food Tech, which invents cellular meat and insect culture as alternative protein solutions, intended for animal or human consumption.
The breeding of tomorrow, if it is still in the meadows rather than in the laboratory, is indeed this vast field to be questioned.
