Able Farms PDX comes from humble origins, with a motto of “We are Strong, we are Passionate, we are Able”. I started the farm roughly in 2009 on Wapato Island. I am a farmer, chef, artist, soil, livestock and wine aficionado. I grew up in a restaurant family and have been involved in kitchens since I was 14 years old. From there, the agricultural world was a seamless and natural next step.
Able Farms PDX has been a foundation for many of my passions to come together under one umbrella. I am balancing my art focus alongside my agricultural and land stewardship career. The two are seamlessly intertwined.
Able Farms has had a successful CSA program, been a part of a local farmers market, and held numerous fundraisers, dinner collaborations, and workshops. I co-created the Portland CSA Share Fair, hold a B.S. in Environmental Science, am a U.S. Pork Quality Assurance trainer, Small Farms School poultry instructor, Oregon Master Preserver, B.F.A. Intermedia Arts from PNCA…, and an advocate for small farms and producers who do right by their land, animals, and communities. The farm currently focuses on raising non conventional and heritage pastured based livestock. We are a proud member of the Livestock Conservancy. I specialize in land management alongside livestock integration, especially for wineries. We curate intimate gatherings that are rooted in agriculture, viticulture, artistic installations, and culinary systems-begging questions of social & food justice.
