Accelerated Skill Training

Valencia College has been selected as one of 42 community colleges that have received more than $100,000 grant from the legendary heavy metal band Metallica’s All Within My Hands foundation through its “Metallica Scholars Initiative” workforce program.

Metallica Scholars Initiative students will be trained in welding, industrial automation, or the operation of heavy construction equipment. Graduates of these programs earn starting wages that average $14 to $26 an hour in Central Florida.
