What is the program like?

The GBAC STAR Accreditation Program is performance-based and designed to help facilities establish a comprehensive and high-performing cleaning and maintenance program to maintain a hygienic indoor environment. This includes strategies for a comprehensive assessment of the facility, a tailored high-performance cleaning regimen, and implementation of proper disinfection technologies, all of which contribute to reducing the pathogen load to ensure hygienic conditions in the indoor environment.

What is the application process for the GBAC STAR Facility Accreditation program?

GBAC STAR is a performance-based program. GBAC offers tools and documentation to assist facilities in developing the competencies, procedures, and protocols that meet accreditation requirements as needed. The application completion process will depend on the size and complexity of your organization.

How long does the accreditation last?

GBAC STAR Facility Accreditation is an annual accreditation with a reaccreditation process commencing each year.

Who determines accreditation?

The Accreditation Council is the accrediting body of  the GBAC STAR Facility Accreditation Program, and the council determines the status of all GBAC STAR facilities. Volunteers are appointed to serve in roles related to the accreditation process.

How much does the GBAC STAR Accredited Facility program cost?

Each GBAC STAR Facility Accreditation will include the appropriate number of individual GBAC Online Fundamentals Course programs and certificates of completion in the quoted price. Additional GBAC Online Fundamentals Course programs and certificates of completion are available at $150 each.
