🔍 Looking to streamline operations and enhance efficiencies across different plants? Global companies, with several plants worldwide, may have different sets of systems, whether commercial, custom, or legacy, often as a result of distinct historical paths and acquisitions. The implementation of a manufacturing execution system (#MES) Center of Excellence (#CoE) offers a strategic solution, aiming to standardize processes and technologies across these diverse environments while fostering agility and responsiveness to shifting business conditions. This article, written by Francisco Almada Lobo, carefully goes through: - Why should companies implement a CoE - Benefits of having an MES baseline model - Strategic recommendations for implementing an MES CoE These are just the first topics to consider when making a strategic choice that aligns with your company's objectives. MES needs to allow a company to evolve, grow and innovate. Legacy #MES systems that have been severely customized over time make upgrades, integration, backwards compatibility, and future-proofing much more difficult. #Semiconductor companies with older generation MES are facing a looming question whether to update or replace these custom solutions with commercially available MES software. Risk, time and cost are the three factors that determine this decision. Which approach to the MES replacement is better? Read our White Paper to explore the options and plan your migration. https://lnkd.in/dQMQ2YSW
