Consider us impressed! Andrew Linhart used his engineering skills to craft an 8,000-piece the LEGO Group replica of Rice University's campus.
Leave it up to a mechanical engineer to make an 8,000-piece the LEGO Group replica of Rice University! You can't beat that level of creativity and motivation. Andrew Linhart, a senior mechanical engineering student at Brown College, designed and built a LEGO map of the college campus. The project took several hundred hours to complete, but Linhart's friends lent a hand, making the challenge more enjoyable. Linhart also expressed his gratitude to Rice’s Office of Admission, Student Association and Office of Public Affairs, and ASME (The American Society of Mechanical Engineers) for making the project possible. Cheers to the end of #GlobalVolunteerMonth and #ASMECommunityImpact Month! Volunteerism is the heart of ASME. That's why we decided to celebrate by bringing staff together to complete acts of service nationwide. Over in our HQ city, NYC, the Global Alliance Board Operations (GABO) team lent a hand at The Bowery Mission on April 10th, serving lunch to those in need. Additionally, our Hispanic Organization for Leadership and Achievement (HOLA) Employee Resource Group rolled up their sleeves on April 16th to help clean up Tompkins Square Park. Staff from our Houston office volunteered at Bread of Life, Inc., assisting in organizing various donated household items to help facilitate the creation of care packages that the community outreach organization distributes. ASME's volunteerism efforts didn't stop there—staff was encouraged to seek opportunities to serve the communities we all live in.
