Thirty years ago, the 1992 California Charter Schools Act made its way through the legislature and was signed into law, launching a public education movement that has benefitted millions of students statewide. The California Charter Schools Association (CCSA) is celebrating this milestone with the launch of a statewide campaign called Charters at 30: Reimagining Public Education. Join us for a virtual kick-off event which will also honor the life and legacy of the late CA state senator, Gary K. Hart, who authored the 1992 legislation. Special guests include Ms. Sue Burr, former Executive Director at the State Board of Education, Mr. Eric Premack, Founding Director of Charter Schools Development Center, and Ms. Nina Rees, President and CEO of the National Alliance of Charter Public Schools.
