📣 We are proud to announce that two of our very own – Brittney Graff, PhD, Sr. Global Product Marketing Manager, and Chris Fontana, Vacuum and Pressure Business Unit Manager, are integral to this year’s Women in Semiconductor (WiS) Conference, immediately following the Advanced Semiconductor Manufacturing Conference (ASMC) in Albany, New York. As co-chair for WiS, Brittney has been instrumental in developing the program and selecting the speakers. She will introduce the speakers and the program, “Fostering an Inclusive and Equitable Workplace.” Chris will participate in the panel discussion where he will provide his personal and professional expertise on “Advocating for Real Change: Why Equity and Inclusion Need to be Everyone’s Concern.” This year’s conference will unpack what constitutes an inclusive workplace and why fostering greater inclusion leads to greater innovation, sense of belonging and employee success. Read the insightful Q&A below and register for this exciting program! https://lnkd.in/eJvDmpb #BrooksInstrument #WiS #WomeninSemiconductors
Ahead of the Women in Semiconductors (WiS) program on May 16, Margaret Kindling of the SEMI Foundation spoke with two WiS co-chairs from Applied Materials and Brooks Instrument about their work on the group, their careers, and why supporting a diverse workforce and women is critical to the success of the semiconductor industry. 🔩 Ensuring accurate and stable liquid and gas feed delivery is not just important; it is critical for producing a titanium nitride (TiN) coating, which is often found on drill bits, cutting tools, and other metal parts. This coating improves wear resistance and extends the life of these metal parts. The liquid feed of Titanium Tetrachloride is measured and controlled by the NEW 3rd generation Quantim QMC Coriolis mass flow controller (MFC); meanwhile, an SLA5800 Series MFC, accurately controls a carrier gas such as Nitrogen, all feeding into a vaporizer. The liquid turns into a vapor and feeds into a furnace. Two additional SLA5800 Series MFCs accurately feed Nitrogen and Hydrogen into the furnace. In the furnace, Titanium Tetrachloride, Nitrogen, and Hydrogen react at an elevated temperature to create Titanium Nitride, the final product for the metal parts. 👉 Accurate and stable liquid and gas feed delivery is critical to the integrity, proper thickness, and uniformity of the coating in the furnace. Although many devices work together in this process, the NEW 3rd generation Quantim QMC Coriolis MFC is paramount for the controlled liquid feed that ultimately enables this chemical reaction.
