Since the start of the war, transportation throughout much of Ukraine has been greatly impacted, which has left many Ukrainians without safe and reliable transportation options. As part of #BikesForUkraine, our Lime team in Germany is donating 500 e-bikes to local organizations which will be used to provide transportation for medical personnel and public transit systems employees, volunteers delivering humanitarian aid, as well as providing support for Ukrainians living in temporary housing facilities.

Lime x Women’s Aid launch 'Ride to refuge' pilot scheme on International Women's Day 💚 This year marks 50 years of Women's Aid working to end domestic abuse against women and children in the UK. Lime is proud to support this cause, and announce our new partnership to offer access to free e-bike and e-scooter travel for women living in refuge accommodation in London, ahead of International Women's Day. ‘Ride to refuge’ will be piloted in London with Women’s Aid member organisations and provide the survivors they support with access to 100,000 free minutes of active travel in 2024, with the potential for the scheme to be extended in other UK cities where we operate in the future. It comes as Women’s Aid latest research shows almost half (49%) of domestic abuse services surveyed were forced to run their organisation without dedicated funding. Domestic abuse services often go above and beyond to ensure survivors are able to access their services and reach accommodation, which ‘Ride to refuge’ will support. Women’s Aid also has a ‘Rail to refuge’ programme with the Rail Delivery Group. You can be part of the movement this International Women's Day by donating to support Women's Aid Federation of England here: https://bit.ly/3P2UL1L, or by purchasing some of their merchandise, which helps to fund their important services.

A ride that does as much good for your 🧠 mind as it does for the 🌍 planet! According to Jean-Victor Blanc, psychiatrist and founder of Culture Pop & Psy, cycling can have positive benefits on one’s mental health. “Clinical studies show that e-bikes can help facilitate a change in habits, and in particular, can help people who are less athletic return to physical activity easily. It also helps improve general well-being and can have a positive effect on mental and physical health.” We surveyed 1,000 people in France to see how they felt about the benefits of cycling: 👉 90% of French people surveyed felt a greater sense of freedom and fulfillment. 👉 83% felt less stressed. 👉 82% started the day feeling more peaceful. 👉 83% saw this daily practice as a way to unwind at the end of the working day. #Micromobility #GreenTransportation #ShareMobility #MentalHealthAwareness #France

We're thrilled to share Lime’s recent #netzero target was recently validated by #SBTi, a first for the micromobility industry! Read more about it from our VP, Head of Sustainability Andrew Savage 👇🏾
I'm happy to share Lime's net-zero target received validation from #SBTi— a first for our industry. 🎉 This is big for us. ⏲ Back in 2020, we first committed to setting a science-based target. We knew we had to meet what science required to prevent the worst of climate change. We wanted to set ourselves to the highest standard. The Science Based Targets initiative was just that, the gold standard in corporate carbon targets (a collaboration among CDP, WWF World Wildlife Fund, United Nations Global Compact, & World Resources Institute). At the time, we had just under 500 employees. We could have qualified for a small business exemption and a less rigorous target allowing smaller companies a pass on measuring certain upstream emissions (in Lime's case, 90%+). We didn't. At the time, we'd never embarked on measuring our company's carbon footprint. So we did. And we have each year since. At the time, a science-based net-zero target wasn't a thing: there was no methodology for setting one. So we set a target aligned with the Paris Climate Accord's 1.5C goal, had it approved, and committed publicly we'd get to net-zero. ✅ And then at this time last year, with the fresh new rules in place, we submitted a new, more ambitious near and long-term 2030 target in line with science-based #netzero. It's now approved. Our latest carbon report found we'd reduced our emissions intensity by 37% from our baseline. We're on track to double down on that again for 2023. And, though for sure with a ton of very hard work yet-ahead, in 2024 we have more good stuff lined up to forge forward toward decarbonizing the business. All of this takes a great team. A team ready to tackle the toughest challenges. A team willing to set the highest standard. And a team ready to take action. Let's go 2024! #sciencebasedtargets #netzero #wemeanbusiness #sbti #sustainability #ridegreen #lime #climatechange #climateaction #carbon #carbonemissions #micromobility #sharedmobility #transportation #cities #smartcities #innovation #startups #team #cop28 Target here -> https://bit.ly/3NyNoia Lime's carbon inventory report here -> https://lnkd.in/etSvDKZX
