Families from Blue Star Families joined us in New Mexico for our first #MilitaryFamiliesOutdoors event of the season! Time spent outdoors can be rejuvenating and healing, and this weekend we brought families from across New Mexico together for canoeing on Cochiti Lake. 📷 - Christine Rettler

Through immersive, multi-day outdoor experiences, our youth programs engage young people to build positive relationships, connect to nature and community, and thrive outside. For the past two years, we’ve partnered with Hello Insight to track and evaluate our youth programs to measure social-emotional learning (SEL) capacities of youth participants before and after our Outdoor Credit Recovery program and multi-day camping trips. Last year, overall scores and impact showed that Wilderness Inquiry youth programs scored in the 90th percentile nationally. Head to the link below to read more about our youth program evaluations and commitment to providing positive and meaningful experiences for youth participants!

This year, we are expanding our partnership with Blue Star Families as we work together to engage military families in outdoor adventures all across the country. Our Military Families Outdoors program is designed to support the health and well-being of service members and their families through intentional outdoor experiences that support connection and belonging. Our first events of the year are coming up in Colorado, New Mexico, and Utah with Canoemobile. Read more about this important work at the link below!

What a way to kickoff our Spring #Canoemobile Tour! We had a blast on the water in sunny California with our longtime friends at Alpha Resource Center of Santa Barbara and Toad&Co! Recently, Toad&Co launched their Tees That Give Back campaign, featuring Wilderness Inquiry alongside a handful of other nonprofits. Head to the link below to grab one of our tees before they're all gone!

We're proud to continue our great partnership with the National Park Foundation's ParkVentures program to increase access to outdoor spaces and activities - particularly within our national parks. Accessible outdoor adventures are core to our mission, and we look forward to working with more communities in more spaces to build lasting connections to the outdoors. Read more about our work with NPF below! ⬇
The National Park Foundation is excited to invest $2.2 million in grants to affinity groups to build lifelong relationships with national parks. Everyone should be able to fully experience the benefits of the outdoors. The 62 projects selected for funding this year span 59 parks and focus on representation, accessibility, and interpretation – all things that leaders in outdoor recreation and equity spaces identify as barriers for communities that have been historically excluded from parks. https://lnkd.in/eQceMF-E
