This year, Galentine’s Day lands on a Thursday — the perfect excuse to extend your celebration of female friendship into the weekend.
1. Laugh away your woes with female comics at Second City in Chicago, Illinois before exploring the city's female-led cocktail scene (The Violet Hour and Fat Rice lounges are a must).
2. Go food truck-hopping in Austin! BBQ at Micklethwait Craft Meats, tacos at Veracruz All Natural, sweet treats at Bananarchy and Churro Co. — there's something for everyone in your squad.
3. Stroll the cobblestone streets of the Walled City and salsa at Café Havana in Cartagena, Colombia. With a surprising number of airlines that fly direct, this city makes for an easy tropical weekend getaway.
4. Wine and dine in Napa Valley! Oxbow Public Market and French Laundry are a must for foodies, and don't miss Scribe Winery — tastings in their stunning hacienda come with charcuterie boards of foods grown on site.
5. Snowshoe on Millennium Trail, skate at Midtown Brewing Company, tour the wineries (yes they’re open in the winter), and 'gram the ice-y beach at Sandbanks Provincial Park — all at Prince Edward County, Canada.
6. Party it up in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico or, better yet, experience all the luxury that this region has to offer by booking spa treatments and lounging poolside at nearby resorts.
7. Treat yourself like a Goop goddess in New York City with a mani, superfood lattes, and an infrared sauna sesh at Chillhouse, followed by a Galentine's Day Drunk Yoga flow.
8. Soak up all the art in Barcelona, Spain. Check out some of Picasso’s most famous pieces at the Museu Picasso and then view Antoni Gaudí’s one-of-a-kind architecture at the Sagrada Família and Park Güell.
9. Practice yoga on the beach and explore the jungles in Bali, Indonesia.
10. Have high tea in London, England. The Valentine’s Afternoon Tea service at the London Hilton on Park Lane, for example, makes for a super classy Galentine's Day affair.

13. Hike all the trails in Sedona, Arizona! The Bell Rock Trail is a classic while several more insta-worthy trails are a bit harder, but definitely worth the challenge.
